​Breathing To Create Calmness

5/5 Breathing Technique

When you are stressed, if you bring your awareness to your breath, you will notice that you are breathing high up in your chest. When you deliberately change your breathe to 5/5, you will automatically be calmer.

  • Focus on your breathing

  • Inhale for 5 seconds

  • Hold your breath for 5 seconds

  • Exhale slowly through your nose or mouth for 5 seconds

  • Repeat and until you are calmer and your thoughts slow down

It's great to practise this techniques a few times throughout the day. This will increase your awareness and ability to reduce the times you create stress and you will be ready anytime you are in a situation where you are really anxious.

You are actually resetting the autonomic nervous system. From the sympathetic nervous system, flight, fight or freeze, to the parasympathetic nervous system, that tells your body, things are ok, you can relax.

Truth Circles - the easiest & quickest way to make a decision.

When you are not sure what decision to make and you are going around and around in circles trying to figure it out, just use one circle, a truth circle. Figuring things out relies on the unconscious and what we have experienced from the past. This limits what is possible and is based on a limited perspective. Just follow these steps:

​

  1. Structure your question as a yes/no question, so the answer is nice and clear

  2. Quiet your mind as best you can, focus on your breathing and slow it down.

  3. Set your intention to get the answer from your Superconcious or your Higher Self (your ego will try to but in)

  4. ​Draw a circle on the ground and step into and ask your question

  5. Take the first answer that comes up and take a step to follow up on that as soon as possible.

Sometimes you will be surprised by the answer you get and the ego will bring up some fear or logic, just acknowledge it and choose your truth, take action, and watch the magic unfold.​

The more you do this, the stronger your intuition will be and the less your fear will be, as you see evidence of what following the truth creates in your life.

Grounding Techniques

Grounding or Earthing as it can be called, connect you to the Earth's natural electrical charge. There are numerous benefits of grounding can be:-

  • Reduced inflammation

  • Pain Relief

  • Increased blood flow

  • Reduced stress

  • Reduced cortisol

The easiest way to ground yourself is to walk barefoot on the grass or soil. Not always convenient. So, concrete can help but not asphalt. Dipping your feet in the ocean, if you live by the beach or hugging a tree will have the same effect. Lol. If you are feeling a bit self-conscious, just lean your back against the tree and do some deep breathing to bring in more of the oxygen the tree is producing.

Put a reminders in your phone or calendar to do this regularly and really notice the change. If you are feeling especially anxious or stressed do it anytime.
